We are happy to file claims with all insurance companies, including secondary insurance. We are currently a Preferred Provider for Cigna Dental, though that will be ending November 1 (Please see our separate blog post on PPO’s).
If you have insurance, we will help you determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefits to us unless it is a Medicare Advantage Plan. Delta Dental of Missouri, and some other state Delta plans, will not allow assignment of benefits to the provider’s office unless it is Delta Provider no matter the patient’s wishes. Some Delta plans do allow for assignment of benefits. While we still file with Delta, if checks go to the patient, arrangements for you to pay the balance will be arranged as listed under Financial Policy.
Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. We will help every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf, but your are the responsible party to us, not your insurance company.
Keep in mind that most insurance companies emphasize coverage at a minimal level; often times for less than high quality dentistry.
